I'm a Sophomore at wayne state university i am wondering whats a good major to major in if i want to be a doctor. i was thinking about physical therapy just in case i need something to fall back on.
Your major doesn't matter much from the medical school's perspective. Take what interests you, and make sure you take all of the required premed classes. It is a good idea to select a major that will serve you well if you decide medical school isn't for you.
thank you for responding that really helped because i was thinking about physical therapy in case med school doesn't work out but people are trying to discourage me.
There are a few PTs in my med school class, and they are doing swell... but as Dr. Admin points out, you can major in whatever the heck you want. Just make sure you have taken all of the pre-reqs and you take the MCAT.
College is a great time to study something you enjoy as a major, in my opinion... undergrad only lasts so long!
Good luck...
