The main question is what kept you from doing better in community college. Until you identify the problem, there is no way to know if you will do better at Cal State. If you do exceptionally well at Cal State, it may be possible to get into medical school; however, the VAST majority of students who would get a 2.5 GPA in community college would not be able to perform well enough in the required pre-med coursework to get into medical school.

My recommendation is to do your best, but you should be very prepared that you will not get into medical school. There are plenty of other careers in the medical field that are likely going to be a better fit for you.
