I'm not sure what is involved in your nursing program. If you complete all of the required pre-med classes, then you can apply to medical school. You may want to consider some alternatives, such as becoming a nurse practioner / clinical nurse specialist.

When you say your goal is to "study medicine" do you mean to become a doctor, or just to learn about the field of medicine?

Hi everyone,
I am aslo face with this problem of nursing and medical school. I don't have enough money to sponsor myself through medical school, so i though it wise that being a nurse first will help me alot in preparing for med school. Also i consider nursing as a backup plan for me in case my admission into med school is not immediate.
However, i have heard that the chances for individuals with a Bs in nursing getting into med school(MD) is to slim. I really want to be a medical doctor and that has been my passion since when i was eight. It is because of my financial situation and that of my family that i am during nusring now. Please, anybody with some advice 😕 . I will appreciate it. Thanks.
