I am a current freshman in college planning to go to med school. I have only taken chem 1 and am not doing so well. C at best most likely D. Would it be a good idea to retake chem 1 to get a better grade for my app to med school? I am taking chem 2 next semester and expect to do better with a different instructor. I feel like my professor here at my community college for chem 1 was incompetent and simply was not a good instructor because I was dedicated to my studies in the course and expected to do well. Over half my class is switching to a different professor for chem 2 because they feel the same way.
Most likely you would want to take your pre-med courses at a four year college and not a community college. Getting a C at a community college will make getting into medical school very challenging. Getting a D would be even worse. Retaking it could help some, but it may not be enough.
